Get Rid of Pimples - Improve Your Social Life
Everyone that has graced our earth long enough to go through his or her teenage years, has reached a time in their life that is called puberty. Puberty, which affects everyone differently, is a time in life where the largest hormonal and sexual changes occur. Common characterstics that are defined during this time are the development of pubic hair, voice changes, breast development in females, etc.
One common ’side effect’ of puberty is the increased appearance of pimples. Pimples are a commonly occuring lesion on the surface of the skin that are the result of by swelled or otherwise blocked pores. Most often a result of acne, they may also be symptomatic of other unrelated conditions such as smallpox or even some bug bites. In all cases, a ‘pimple’ is just a accumulation of puss located under the skin. It is a concentration of dead white blood cells (and other matter) that results from the body’s own natural battle to fight off this infection - whether it is acne, a disease or a bug bite.
Noone that I have met likes pimples, and they have become a huge social issue in today’s society. This is most directly due to the direct affect that they have on the way someone looks and many people derive their sense of worth based on their looks. Even though they may not be, pimples have the affect of making one appear ‘dirty’.
It isn’t hard to eliminate or reduce a pimple, all you have to do is press in and down on the area from both sides. This action will cause the small section of the skin where the pimple is located to rupture, allowing the pimple to loose it’s internal puss outwards. This is the most frequently used method, however, it is usually discouraged by skin care authorities. Dermatologists have proven that in squeezing the pimple you can actually force some of the puss and bacteria to be pushed deeper into the skin. This will, in turn, cause more infection to occur. Often times the person’s hands are dirty and this can also be the cause of prolonged irritation.
Proper treatment includes keeping the areas as clean as possible and keeping any known irritants away from the skin. Quite often, if the source of the irritation is removed, the pimples will clear up soon after. While figuring out the cause of the ‘irritation’ is during many cases of acne may be hard, it is worth trying. Often there are simple treatments that have produced very good results.
